Summer Taco Bell actions - a quick review:

The Portland, Oregon, boycott committee(shown here on the right crowding the counter at a local TB...) is taking their campaign to new heights... Check out their latest action (8/17/02) in photos and a first hand report by clicking here for the Portland Indymedia story.

Portland, Oregon, boycott allies from the CBLOC (Cross BorderLabor Organizing Coalition) keep the pressureon Taco Bell in the great Northwest with another action on August 3, 2002. See more pictures and their report at the Portland Indymedia site. The August protest was the latest in a series of actions in Portland (the Portland Indymedia site has great coverage of all the recent CBLOC events).

 

 

Miami, FL - July 28, 2002:Taco Sinmiedo, a fair trade taco and the latest Taco Bell Boycott activist, made his first appearance on Sunday, July 21, in front of a Taco Bell on Biscayne Blvd. in Miami, FL. He was joined at a hot but spirited rally in Miami, FL, by members of the CIW, the Miami Workers' Center, and several South Florida unions. For more pics from the action, click here. Taco is currently en route to the second stop on his whirlwind cross country tour. Where will he appear next? Stay tuned for updates on Taco's whereabouts and activities.

 

Memphis, TN - July 20, 2002: CIW's "sandilleros" (members of the CIW's watermelon harvesting labor cooperative) joined the Memphis boycott committee in a sweltering action at a Taco Bell in the Mid-South. Check out these pix!

Denver, CO - May 16, 2002: A Denver downpour couldn't deter West High's "Apoyando a los Trabajadores de Immokalee" club from taking the streets of Denver with a powerful demonstration at a downtown Taco Bell, complete with a great story on Colorado's Univision News. Irvine, CA - June 27, 2002: In front of TB's headquarters... almost 100 high school kids, the OC Boycott Committee, and POWER chanted, marched, waved at passing cars for about an hour. Photos and more coming soon...
