2013-2014 State of the Program Report can be downloaded as a web exclusive ahead of print release later this month…

For all the Fair Food Activists, inquisitive journalists, and fans of cold hard facts and razor sharp analysis out there, the day has finally arrived — the 2013-2014 State of the Program Report is a wrap and you can download it here!

Beyond its usual assortment of statistics and quantitative measures of compliance with the Fair Food Code of Conduct across the industry, the report also includes a liberal sprinkling of anecdotal evidence collected in the course of audits and complaint investigations during the past season.  These anecdotes, like the one that follows below,  give an excellent qualitative sense of the changes taking place in Florida’s fields today:

An auditor spoke with a male worker who observed that at so many farms women risk losing their jobs if they speak out against harassment or reject the advances of a supervisor. He remarked how different the environment is at FFP farms. He added that, as a man, he believes that this more comfortable and respectful work environment benefits him as well, and he is very relieved to work in a place where women are not treated poorly. (November 2013)

The annual report is becoming a must-read for anyone interested in understanding the Fair Food Program and the concrete progress being made on the ground every day in Florida’s tomato industry.  Download your copy now here.
