Northeast Tour 2008 – Public Events

Below is a partial list of the events planned for the Northeast Fair Food Tour 2008. Check back in the coming days as plans for more presentations and actions are finalized and we post them online:

Wednesday, December 3: Chapel Hill, NC
10:30am/ 11:00am Presentations at Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill. Call 239-292-3431 for information.

Thursday, December 4: Washington, DC & Baltimore, MD
11am to 12:30pm: Brownbag lunch & discussion with the CIW. Co-sponsored by the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Center for Human Rights. At the SEIU building, 1800 Massachusetts Ave NW, Room 2006

Simultaneous events in Georgetown:

11:45am-12:45pm: Teach-in: “Farmworker Exploitation, Fast Food, and You.” At the ICC (Bunn Intercultural Center), Room 104, on the Georgetown University campus.

Baltimore:

6pm: Dynamic presentation and discussion with United Workers and the CIW: “Low-wage workers and the struggle for human rights.” At the “2640” space, 2640 St. Paul St.


Friday, December 5: Philadelphia, PA

1:30pm: Community presentation & discussion with the CIW at the University of Pennsylvania, Irvine Auditorium (NW corner of 34th Street & Spruce Street), Room IRG07

Saturday, December 6: Boston, MA & Providence, RI
